Identify the vehicle and the requested component separately

Record the truck brand, complete model and chassis or VIN exactly as shown when it is available. Then record the installed engine identity and serial number from its own plate. A truck model does not by itself identify its installed engine, gearbox, axle or the exact component needed.

For the requested component, keep the position, old-part label, casting mark and catalogue callout in separate fields. State whether you need a complete assembly, a serviceable subcomponent or a repair kit. Left and right, front and rear, and axle position can change the request.

Build one clear request line

For each line, provide the requested quantity and connect the component to its location on the truck. Include the chassis or VIN where available, engine identity, and the label from the related gearbox, axle or electrical component when it applies. Preserve uncertain characters rather than replacing them with a guess.

Use safely accessible labels and photographs. A qualified person should obtain information that requires access to hazardous areas; do not operate, dismantle or place the truck in an unsafe condition only to prepare an inquiry.

Add a small labelled photo set

Name each photo so it can be matched to a request line. Photograph the truck plate, the relevant component plate or label, the overall installed position and the connector, flange or mounting face when safely accessible. A clear image supports identification but does not confirm fitment on its own.

Illustrative request review

Demonstration only — not a customer case, actual quotation or confirmation of availability.

StageExample
Information receivedA buyer sends a chassis number, an engine plate photo and an axle housing mark.
Still unresolvedThe requested assembly scope and axle position are not stated.
Next stepKeep the housing mark as an observation. Add a labelled old-part photo and state whether the request is for the complete assembly or a listed subcomponent before comparing offers.
